Eligibility and cost
In these terms, the Trust means Ngā Māia Charitable Trust, the legal entity trading as Iwaiwa. Iwaiwa is the Trust’s public trading name.
Free Iwaiwa membership is available to Māori midwives, other midwives and student midwives. This registration does not include a Whānau membership category.
Registration and access
Provide accurate registration details and keep them up to date. Member resource access is granted automatically after registration. Registration does not independently verify your eligibility or professional status.
There is no annual automatic expiry of resource access under these terms. Contact admin@ngamaiatrust.org to update details you cannot change yourself or to clarify your membership status.
Existing members
Existing authorised members do not need to register again simply because the public identity changes to Iwaiwa. The rebrand retains the existing member-account system.
Your account and resources
Keep your account password private and use the supported recovery process if you forget it. Do not share access with people who are not authorised. Use member resources respectfully and follow any stated permissions, cultural-use restrictions and attribution requirements. Do not upload or share identifiable clinical information without an authorised process.
Member communications and privacy
The Trust uses registration details to administer membership and communicate about it. General promotional updates require appropriate email preferences and an unsubscribe route. Agreeing to these terms is not blanket consent to every future marketing message.
Unsubscribing from the email list stops mailing-list emails. It does not end your Iwaiwa membership or remove access to member resources. To end your membership, make a separate request at admin@ngamaiatrust.org.
Read the Privacy Statement for information about collection, use, access and correction of personal information.
Ending access and raising concerns
To end your membership, email admin@ngamaiatrust.org and clearly request “End my membership”. The administrator handles removal of membership access. Unsubscribing from mailing-list emails does not make this request on your behalf.
Contact admin@ngamaiatrust.org to request account closure or raise a membership or access concern. The Trust may address inaccurate registration information, ineligible membership or misuse of resources. If the Trust declines, suspends or ends access, it will explain the reason and how you can raise a concern, unless doing so would be unlawful.
Ending membership does not necessarily mean all records are immediately deleted. Read the Privacy Statement for information about retention.
Agreement and changes
Registration requires you to acknowledge that you have read and agree to the Membership Terms and Conditions. These terms do not replace separate terms for courses, payments or other services.
The proposed effective date is 13 October 2026, subject to final adoption by the Trust. The Trust Board Executive will communicate material changes affecting members directly to those affected.
